Tables and shelves will be stacked with hard and soft cover books, tapes, children's books and more for the sale open April 6 , noon to 5 p.m.; April 7,9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and April 8 , 1 to 4 p.m. The Book Sale takes place in the Central Library Auditorium 120 Navy St. Books are 95 cents per pound and are discounted a further 50% on Sunday. To get the best books at these great prices, attend the Members Only Sale evening on April 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. One year memberships are available at any Oakville Library branch and will also be sold at the Members Only event. An annual membership is $ 1 0 . The Friends of the Library host Book Sales each spring and fall, selling used library books. Money raised goes to enhance the Oakville Public Library services and programs. Since 1993, the Friends have raised over $70,000 from its Book Sales. The Friends of the Oakville Public Library is a volunteer advocacy group dedicated to increasing awareness of-the Library's programs and services and the enhancement of those services for adults and children through a variety of community events and fundraising activities.
