Six-year-old James Mulley donated his bike to a fundraising garage sale for Sleeping Children Around the World in May, which sold for $35 -- the cost of a bed kit that included a wash basin, a mattress, pillow, sheet, blanket, mosquito net, clothes and school supplies. His gesture was encouraged through a school assignment where he was challenged to conduct a random act of kindness and write about it. James, starts Grade 2 at Maple Grove Public School next week, specifically chose an item that meant a lot to him so he could pay it forward. On Aug. 27, he received a picture of Wafula, the Ugandan boy he helped, and got to hear the impact his act has had on Wafula's life. Oakville resident Cindy Hobman, a Sleeping Children Around the World volunteer who helped distribute 5,000 bed kits in Uganda in late May and early June, shared DIAMOND 100% NATURAL INGREDIENTS M a D e to FRESH & MaDe DELICIOUS NaChoS FreSh orDer BURRITOS 289-837-0111 thehabanero.ca Six-year-old James Mulley holds a framed photograph featuring a Ugandan boy, who received a bed kit from Sleeping Children Around the World after the young Oakville resident donated his bicycle to the organization's recent garage sale. | Graham Paine Oakville Beaver (Follow on Twitter @halton_photog) Located Across the Street from Sheridan College on Trafalgar Rd. 1289 Marlborough Court, oakville with James and his family how she had the opportunity to meet Wafula and his mother and share the story about James and his donation. "His mother, the tears just streamed down her face, she was just so touched that someone would give their bike so her boy could have this bed kit. She really was touched," said Hobman. She shared with the Mulley family how Wafula has no siblings as his two brothers died when they were babies. He was sleeping on a papyrus mat with no sheets or blankets in his family's grass hut before he received his bet kit.
