It takes character and discipline to win championships. After losing every regular season game to the Battalion, the Oakville team man aged a 3-3 tie in the first game of the series. In Game 2, Oakville faced a fired up team looking to move ahead. The result was a 7-0 loss for the Rangers. Oakville was back in game three with attitude, win ning 5-3. The final game was a real battle with Oakville getting some crucial penalties in the dying minutes o f the game. Brampton pulled the goalie, pucks were flying and the crowd was roaring. The Rangers pulled it off, winning the final game 4-2, after an empty net goal sealed the victory. The championship was a culmination of a season that started off in less than spec tacular fashion. After a very slow start, Oakville battled its way from die basement to finish fourth overall in the division. After getting knocked out of the OMHA playdowns by Hespeler, the Rangers went on to a 5-1 tear in the tri-county roundrobin. Winning was never easy for the Rangers. The tri-county championship was the result o f hard work and commitment by the players and the coaches to a goal that some times seemed beyond reach. Congratulations go out to all o f the Rangers who worked so hard to achieve their goal. Special thanks to the coaches, sponsors, and parents who turned the sea son into something special.
