John Blakely and Marc Hoewing, Utility Service Managers with the City of Burlington and the Town of Oakville, presented Deputy Chief Bob Percy and Safety Village program coordinator Cindy Lawrence with the donation at the safety village on Monday. "At Union Gas, we are committed to the safety of our employees and our communities," said Blakely. "That's why we support important safety educational programs in the communities we serve, such as those offered here at the Children's Safety Village, which help children embrace personal safety." In recent years, Union Gas has donated more than $40,000 to the Children's Safety Village. Police said these funds have enabled the safety village to upgrade current equipment, technologies, audio and visual aids to assist with teaching children about safety.
