Not that the Oakville singer/actor has never performed in front of an audience before - as a former student o f the Musical Theatre program at Sheridan College, he has done many stage performances. But May 14 will mark his debut as half of the Tullo and Nelson duo, which created and pro duced his first CD, aptly titled Tullo and Nelson. "I connected with a producer and a friend o f mine. Paul Nelson, and he produced one o f my tunes, and after doing so. said, i really like your stuff; it's very impressive. If you'd like, we can get together, collaborate at my studio and produce a CD .' And we came up with some great stuff," explains Tullo. noting that all the material on his first CD is original. "M ost o f it written by n*?...It was about a yearand-a-half in the making. We took our time because we were really concerned about not just throwing on 10 songs." "The response is unbelievable." says the singer/song writer. adding that he has, since the CD's release, followed Eminem on a segment of Graffiti on Telatino television, where Shy Girl, the first track on his first CD. was a real hit. "It's really creating a huge impact on people." Despite the impact his musical talent and his songs seem to be having on the airwaves, Tullo's first love continues to be acting, and he is determined to make a name for himself in films. In order to do that, the talented performer has co written a movie script with Melissa Di Marco, using the fifth track on his CD - iust Like Yesterday - as the movie's theme song. "It's a song that was written for this purpose." he says. "Acting is and always will be my number-one thing...T hat's always on my mind," says Tullo with firm resolve. "It's going to happen. There's no doubt. Right now. though, the music is just exploding and I'm just going along for the ride." However, having said that. Tullo admits that his next goal is to develop a deal for a music video. And he's sched uled for another Telatino appearance in the fall. "I will be the feature act for a one-hour segment." he explains. His next gig. though, will be at The Three Judges. 167 Lakeshore Rd. E.. on Monday.
