The contest, which is for children in Grades 1-8, lets students enter their original artwork for a chance to be featured on the Mayor of Oakville's holiday card. Two winning submissions will be chosenone from the Grades 1-5 level and one from the Grades 6-8 level. "This contest is a great way to capture the vibrancy of how Oakville celebrates the holiday season through the eyes of youth," said Burton. "The winners will have their artwork featured on a holiday card that is distributed to (more than) 1,500 people in and around the Oakville area." Students are asked to draw a local holiday scene or event that represents Oakville. Original entries must be submitted in the form of a drawing, sketch or painting and meet the following requirements: · Minimum size: 4 x 6 inches; · Maximum size: 8.5 x 11 inches; · Acceptable materials include paper or canvas; · Do not fold artwork; · Accompanied with a completed entry form Each entry form must be signed by a parent/guardian of the artist. Entry forms are available online at oakville.ca/mayor or in-person from the Service Oakville counter just inside Town Hall.
