The contest, which is for children in Grades 1-8, lets students enter their original artwork for a chance to be featured on the Mayor of Oakville's holiday card. Two winning submissions will be chosenone from the Grades 1-5 level and one from the Grades 6-8 level. "This contest is a great way to capture the vibrancy of how Oakville celebrates the holiday season through the eyes of youth," said Burton. "The winners will have their artwork featured on a holiday card that is distributed to (more than) 1,500 people in and around the Oakville area." Students are asked to draw a local holiday scene or event that represents Oakville. Original entries must be submitted in the form of a drawing, sketch or painting and meet the following requirements: · Minimum size: 4 x 6 inches; · Maximum size: 8.5 x 11 inches; · Acceptable materials include paper or canvas; · Do not fold artwork; · Accompanied with a completed entry form Each entry form must be signed by a parent/guardian of the artist. Entry forms are available online at oakville.ca/mayor or in-person from the Service Oakville counter just inside Town Hall. Finished artwork, accompanied with a signed entry form, may be submitted in person at the Service Oakville counter or by regular mail to Hillary McKenzie, in the Mayor's Office, 1225 Trafalgar Rd., Oakville, Ont., L6H 0H3.
