Our goal, while simple, has been a challenging task: to become a leader both locally and globally in educational technology. In 2013, the school introduced a 1:1 iPad initiative for students in Grades 7 and 8. Now all students in Grade 5 to 8 receive an iPad as part of their programming. In 2013, students began with Mathletics accounts to improve math skills, as well as RAZ Kids accounts, which combined with Guided Reading, have improved literacy skills school wide. Rotherglen students have now moved into the creation phase and curate phenomenal digital products, including iMovies, Screencasts, eBooks and much more. Over the summer of 2014, the school added Edsby as its official Learning Management System. Edsby has allowed for efficient communication between students, parents and teachers. Communications including assessments and upcoming school events are streamlined and easily accessible for each member of the school community.
