However this year, under the new Strategic Plan, volunteers will continue to be working over the summer on a number of activities and tasks to ensure that the pace of implementation of the Strategic Plan is not compromised. Many of you are aware this year, 2001, has been proclaimed as the `year of the volunteer'. So this is a year we particularly want to thank all of our volunteers for their dedication and contributions to the Oakville Chamber. As this has been a year of change, and it' s not over yet, volunteers have been called upon to operate under the old, while creating the new, the future for the Oakville Chamber. AncT perhaps no one knows better than I, just how challenging this has been for many of you. Change is often even more difficult to assimilate in volunteer organizations than in the private or public sectors. O n a very personal note, it is my privilege to work with our volunteers, with many, many of you direcdy, and to share in your enthusiasm. Thank you one and all! Your efforts have continued to keep the Oakville Chamber one of the best in the province, likely in the country. And on your behalf, I' d like to thank the Chamber staff for their unwavering support of the volunteers. You are a pleasure to work with, and you make our lives as volunteers so much more fulfilling!
