An overall development charge background study was done to determine what develop ment charges can be recovered from a 10-year growth-related capital plan for GO. That means the municipali ties which fund GO can collect development charges for part of GO funding. Based on growth and ridership projections for the next decade, and capital cost formu lae, the study calculated the GOrelated development charges for each of the affected municipali ties . Based on that overall study, Halton then came up with its own study to calculate the devel opment charges for Halton. Before any local develop ment charges by-law is passed, however, the public meeting is required. The final GO Transit devel opment charges by-law will be presented to regional council for approval on Wednesday, Nov. 14.
