The Oakville Rotary Auction is getting ready to air on Cogeco 23 and run online at www.oakvillerotary.oif. Procurement Chair Gary Busteed and his committee are busy putting together the offi cial catalogue of items avail able for you to bid on that will be distributed with The Oakville Beaver just before the Auction. They include dozens of gift certificates good at many local businesses; the best seats in the O a k v il l e Ro t a r y A u c t i o n house for Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors games; concert and theatre tickets; beautiful limited edition prints; home furnishings; golf pack ages and merchandise; and so much more. Special theme segments will air each night - Golf-Town on Friday night, and Canadian lire on Saturday - as will a special Live Auction compo nent to be tried for the first time this year. Items will be up for bid every two minutes at a des ignated time on both nights. You'll have to be one of the first to call in, as a limited num ber of phones are available and callers may stay on the line to ensure they win their item! Almost anything you need will be available during the course of the two nights. W e have everything from Flight Centre travel vouchers and a sailing evening with wellknown Canadian sailing per sonality Rob MacLeod, to an antique stained glass window, sports memorabilia and mens and ladies fashions. Some items received this week include an engraved commemorative paving stone with your name - or a loved one's -- on it in the Bronte Butterfly, a guided wine tasting evening for up to 12 people in your own home, and for those looking to re-decorate we have enough paint for three rooms in your house! Be sure to also watch for a set of custom-made orthotics, a one-year VIP fitness member ship, 250 square feet of Ruberoc (a $2,500 value), and a private club golf day. There are special collectible items for young people includ ing a beautiful Buttons porce lain doll, a limited edition "Cornelius Van der Bear", and a designer bear called Lillibet. House tour tickets on sale A holiday tradition since 1981, St. Andrew's Church will hold its Christmas House Tour of eight beautiful homes, the church and the parish centre, all decorated for the Yuletide season, on Dec. I. Renowned interior decorators and floral designers will pro fessionally decorate these well-appointed homes. Tickets will be available from local merchants from Nov. 1 to Dec. 1. Tickets are $20 and refreshments are available at the parish centre.
