Exhibit features works of WOSS IB Arts students Three Grade 12 artists will have their works on display starting this weekend at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre (QEPCCC). Auj Hamayun, Samuel Thoumieux and Jacqueline Truong are White Oaks Secondary School (WOSS) students completing the International Baccalaureate (IB) Visual Arts Program. The students have created a large variety of artworks ranging from installations, to canvas works and photography. A rigorous two-year program, the IB Arts curriculum allows students to "undertake their own creative processes," stated a media release issued by WOSS. "The exhibition will be an amazing display of the students' accomplishments as they have been challenged to create artworks in a variety of mediums, while adding culture and their own theme to the creations." Art pieces touch on various themes The themes of the three students' works relate to metacognition, individuality and perception. The exhibition will be open from March 24-June 9, with an opening reception next Thursday (March 24) from 7-9 p.m. The QEPCCC is located at 2302 Bridge Rd.
