It takes place at the Oakville Royal Canadian Legion Branch 114, 36 Upper Middle Rd. E., from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. The local legion branch will also be providing a barbecue lunch for shoppers at the event. All proceeds from the fundraiser benefit animals in the community that are currently homeless, or have been abandoned, neglected or abused. Annually, more than 5,000 animals come to the shelter for some type of assistance, according to the OMHS. Recently, OMHS has had an influx of dogs come into its care. It has had to convert offices to house the dogs because there are more of them than there are kennels. A number of them sustained serious injuries that needed expensive medical treatment or surgery. Lisa Ashby, the OMHS manager of fund development, said the government does not provide any funding to care for or find homes for the animals at OMHS. · DRIVEWAYS · FRENCH CURBS · PATIOS · STEPS · WALKWAYS · GARAGE FLOORS uality At Its Best!
