It was Oakville that trailed 11-7 until Keyan McQueen scored with 14 seconds left in the second period. Oakville carried that momentum into the third period, scoring five straight goals -- four of them on the power play -- to jump in front 13-11. Brooklin would go on a run of its own over the final 11 minutes, scoring six straight goals, including three power-play markers, to earn the win. Joe French had three goals and three assists for the Titans while Buzz losef despite seven points by Marley Angus Marley Angus scored four times and had seven points, but the Oakville Jr. C Buzz dropped a 1613 decision to the Wilmot Wild last Sunday. Henry Follows had a hat trick for Oakville and Nathan Maracle and Andrew Deryck each had a pair of goals. Kyle Kennery and Brendan Hackl also scored for the Buzz while Tanner Fabiano, Kevin Dong and Kennery each had two assists. Friday, Maracle scored twice to erase an 8-6 Oakville deficit but Mimico scored with 2:43 to play to edge the Buzz 9-8. Follows and Angus each scored three times and Kennery had two assists. Oakville, 6-6-1, is tied for third place in the Ontario Jr. C Lacrosse League's West Division. It hosts Fergus (9-10-0) at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 19 at Joshua's Creek Arenas. Lacrosse The Rock took a 5-2 lead into the second period and then struck for five goals in seven minutes. Wesley Berg would score on a penalty shot later in the period as the Rock built a 12-4 lead through 40 minutes. Stephan Leblanc led the Rock with three goals and three assists while Rob Hellyer scored twice and set up a pair. Berg and Gillies also had a pair of goals and Eric Fannell and Jeremy Noble each had a goal and two assists. Bryan and Mitch Desnoo also scored for the Rock. Brenden Thenhaus had two assists. The Oakville Lady Hawks hosted a mini field lacrosse tournament in a number of divisions on the weekend at Shell Park. I hope a huge amount of people come out and enjoy the weather and the golf course." The Oakville Angels under-10 girls' softball team split a pair of games in recent Peel Halton Girls Softball Association play. After suffering a tough 3-2 loss to the Kitchener Klassics, the Angels rebounded to defeat the Waterloo Ghosts 8-6. In the Kitchener game, the Klassics broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the fifth inning with a two-out, two-run single. Oakville loaded the bases in the bottom of the fifth (and last) inning but could manage only one run to take the loss. Ashley Maoriat and Ava Helbrecht scored the Angels runs, both driven in by Zoe Kolkman. Oakville bounced back against Waterloo, scoring four runs in the second inning and never looking back. Nikki Cataford stroked her first hit of the season in the big inning while Sloane Fortin knocked in the winning run in the fifth inning. Almost every Angels player scored a run in the victory. Sam Levac picked up the win for Oakville with Kolkman earning the save.
