W ednesday April H ave you ever heard of scalpers selling concert tickets to people lining up to sit in church pews for Handel's Messiah ? W ell, Joyce Sitarski, organizer of such a concert in Oakville, claims that just might be the case at St. Andrew's Church. And that may be because this par ticular presentation of the Messiah w ill include the voices of over 60 men and women from about 30 dif ferent choirs from Oakville, Burling ton, Mississauga, Toronto, and Rich mond Hill. " This is a community effort. W e're so excited about it...It's going to be a grand and glorious affair," exclaims Sitarski, explaining that these singers were not recruited for this choir nor did they have to go through auditions. Love of music and a desire to sing the Messiah seems to have been enough to motivate the members of this unique choir to donate almost three hours of their time every Satur day rehearsing together in Oakville.
