According to the group, co-founded by Oakville's Jennifer Bowser, the Dancers for Cancer volunteer-based board has raised $660,000 since January 2015. Last month, the group officially opened Marnie's Studio at Toronto's SickKids Hospital. The recreational room offers a wide variety of programming for child patients and their families, along with various video and board games, computers, movies and a pool table. It is supervised by a specialist from the Child Life program. "We are truly honoured to be part of such a humbling project and... to open the space and be apart of a project that ultimately lets kids be kids in a hospital setting," stated a media release. The Dancers for Cancer board has committed to raising $1 million over five years to fund the creative arts therapy room.
