S&P Global Ratings reaffirmed the ranking, outlining in is rating analysis Halton has a stable financial outlook. The analysis follows a reaffirmation of the Region's top AAA rating by Moody's Investors Service in January. "Consistently earning a AAA credit rating is a rare and significant achievement that helps us maximize investment in Halton's future," Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr stated in a media release. "While difficult economic times have caused many other Canadian jurisdictions to lose their AAA credit rating, our commitment to being a transparent, accountable and fiscally responsible government has allowed us to maintain our strong long-term financial position." The AAA credit rating allows Halton Region, as well as its four local municipalities (Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills), to finance Consistently earning a AAA credit rating is a rare and significant achievement that helps us maximize investment in Halton's future. At around 6:30 p.m., police allege a fight broke out in a wooded area between two groups of men who were known to each other. Police said two individuals were knocked unconscious and then robbed of their wallets, cellphones and cash. Officers began an investigation and quickly arrested two men who were located a short distance away. Nicholas Didyk, 34, of Oakville has been charged with robbery, aggravated assault, mischief and uttering threats. Shane Fox, 40, of Oakville has been charged with robbery and aggravated assault.
