www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Thursday, September 15, 2016 | 10 MOVE Woof Walk supports emergency veterinary clinic's work Animal lovers can lace up their walking shoes for the 1.5K MOVE Woof Walk Sunday (Sept. 18), in support of The Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital's newly-formed registered charity, The Mississauga Oakville Vet Emergency (MOVE) Pet Foundation. MOVE was created to support and further the health and well-being of companion animals. It supports pets going through a significant illness or health crisis; purchases specialized needs equipment and cutting-edge technology for the hospital; supports the felines in the hospital's cat blood donor program; helps with rehabilitating animals without owners and, advancing veterinary medicine through clinical research. Participants are encouraged to collect pledges and join in the festivities, which begin at 10 a.m. The event features family activities, including the Flying Furballs Dog Agility Show, face painting, a chalk doodle wall, a woof wishing tree and children's pup tent activity centre. Children can also bring a stuffed animal too and learn to be a "vet-in-training." There will be prizes, including Toronto Raptors tickets, vendor giveaways and swag bags filled with pet treats. The walk will start at 11:30 a.m. at the 2285 Bristol Circle hospital. A registration fee of $20 includes participation in all of the activities as well as lunch. All of the styles are designed to complement our downtown heritage district. Our photos will give you a sense of each furniture style, but do not necessarily represent the final pieces that will be selected.
