Oakville's Derek Publicover (ninth, 41:45) and David Smales (10th, 41:58) also cracked the top 10. Rachel Folkema of Grand Rapids, Mich. was the women's winner, clocking a time of 42:15. Wayne Allison coached the Bruins from 1980 to 1993, winning four Ontario College Athletic Association (OCAA) championships, two Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) championships, a national silver medal and three regular season OCAA division titles. He compiled an overall record of 332-200, while winning 70 per cent of his OCAA conference games (188-82). Leroy Cassanova played 56 games from 1980-83, averaging of 15 points per game. He was the first Sheridan basketball player to garner CCAA All-Canadian recognition, honoured during a 1982-83 season in which he guided the Bruins to an 18-6 record and their first appearance in the OCAA championship game, averaging 17.6 points per contest. He was also named Sheridan's Male Athlete of players On ice Once/week Saturday Mornings the Year. As a player and a coach, he has been a member of all 11 Bruin OCAA championship teams and both national championship teams.
