"The resident gets heating and cool ing w here it is m ost needed because it' s self-adjusted," said Ecologix president Steve Davies. "The system m eans lower electricity consum ption and ultim ately savings for the hom eow ner." A boon for the individual household er and the entire province, the system will provide an jestimated savings of 3,300 kW h per year, per u n it - signifi cant as it represents about a 1/3 reduc tion in the average household electricity usage. W ith the vertical tow nhouse com pris ing a growing portion of the residential new construction in m ajor urban centres like Toronto and Ottawa, this is an envi ronm entally friendly, econom ically viable system for optim al residential com fort that still adheres to the im por tant principles of energy conservation.
