We live on Valleyridge Drive, in the Bronte Road/Dundas Street area, in a great family-filled neighbourhood. We have a big family, four kids ages 10, eight, six and four. Every year, we go overboard with decorating for Christmas with the kids. They absolutely love decorating our outside with lights and blow-ups. My six-year-old son is very passionate about his blow-ups... he designs our yard layout and helps my husband install everything... and takes full responsibility for turning them on after school each day and making sure everything is perfect. Yesterday, when we got home from school, he jumped out of the car and ran to turn them all on as usual. We were all shocked to find that most of our blow-ups had been destroyed. Not just destroyed, but decapitated and heads stolen. Someone had come in the night sometime and cut the heads off a blow-up Yoda, reindeer, three snowmen, and also shredded our blow-up Elf on the Shelf and stole a light-up present decoration. We hadn't noticed in the morning since everything was down and soggy from the rain. All four of my kids were inconsolable. They couldn't imagine why someone would do such a thing... who would want to destroy a family' s Christmas decorations? After hours of crying, they finally calmed down a bit and my six year old brought me a letter he had written to Santa (pictured). I just thought I should write in. It would be great if this could get published to let our community know what happened. Every person I have told has been completely shocked and very kind, offering to donate lights or go buy us blow-ups. Obviously, the police have nothing to go on, so unless we get the word out, it will be very difficult to do anything about this. Thanks for your time.
