The increase, ap proved by Halton Re gional council Wednes day (Dec. 14), translates into a $24 increase for a home worth $400,000 to maintain and improve regional service levels for 2017. That includes Halton Police Services and its 3.7 per cent budget increase. It does not in H alton R egion Chair Gary Carr clude municipal and education taxes. Homeowners will also see water and wastewater rates rise 5.1 per cent or $45 next year for a typical household that uses about 250 cubic metres annually.
