This year I am giving up Christmas completely to raise money for clean water projects across the world. I do not want any Christmas presents from family or friends, I will not be taking part in secret Santa exchanges. Instead I am asking anyone that would have bought me a gift to donate money to Charity Water instead. This is my second time raising money the first time in 2 0 1 4 I raised $ 7 ,0 0 0 US and helped almost 2 1 0 people in Miguda, Ethiopia and 2 5 0 people in Endalendia, Ethiopia receive a well in their community I think its very important for kids nowadays, especially in Oakville, to remember how lucky we are. Not just at Christmas but throughout the year. W e, for the most part, have everything we could ever need. A roof over our heads, food to eat and clean water to drink. While some might have more than others, I consider myself very lucky. W hen I look at kids in Ethiopia who have nothing, I can't imagine writing a list of "things" I don't really need, but I just want. If you have space in the newspaper I think you should do a section on kids who are giving back this holiday There are many ways kids can give back, not necessarily at Christmas and not just for water projects. If they find something they enjoy or feel passionate about they should find a way to get involved. Many schools have Me to We Clubs and other groups that can help them find something that matters.
