Oakville finished the year with a record of 19-3-6. Novice AA Rangers enjoy Coffey tim e After winning the Tri-County Minor Hockey League reg ular-season title, the Oakville novice AA Rangers partied with a man who knows a thing or two about hockey cham pionships. Hall-of-fame defenceman Paul Coffey, who won three Stanley Cups during his days with the Edmonton Oilers and Pittsburgh Penguins, joined the Rangers for their post-reg ular season party. His appearance was arranged by Cathy Hudson, a parent of one of the players on the team and a friend of Coffey's. The Rangers clinched the title with a 1-1 tie against the Stoney Creek Warriors last weekend, finishing the season with a record of 19-3-6. T\vo of Oakville's losses this year came at the hands of Stoney Creek, 3-2 and 4-2. The Rangers, however, found a way to earn a point against their nemesis as Brandon Wood scored the game-tying goal in the third period. Assists went to Aidan Challis and Matthew Kim. In other recent games, Oakville posted 3-2 victories over Burlington and Ancaster. Oliver Chau scored twice and Robert Hudson added a single versus Burlington, with Ashur Elliot notching a hat trick against Ancaster. "I'm ju st so proud of the kids," said Rangers coach Nick Semiuck. "They've worked hard all season. They should be proud of themselves. It's a huge accomplishment."
