20 THE OAKVILLE BEAVER Friday,'September 15, 2000 Oakville Place T n - I O Senior male singers needed The Kerr Street Singers resumed their vocal activities today when they reassembled at their regularly sched uled 10 a.m. Friday rehearsals in the Seniors' Centre at 263 Kerr St. The Kerr Street Singers started five years ago, when a group of seniors at the Kerr Street Seniors' Centre got together and started singing songs that were popular during the '30s, '40s and '50s, along with songs from the great Broadway shows and traditional inspi rational hymns. Over the past years, this chorus has performed for seniors' groups, shutins and various other organizations, as well as at community events. If you are a paid-up member of the Oakville Seniors' Centres and like to sing, especially within a group, call Denis Nolan at 842-1598. Men with lower bass and tenor voices are in par ticular demand. Music reading skills, while helpful, are not required. A drop-in fee o f 50 cents is collect ed at all rehearsals.
