Halton Regional Police arrested a man fol low ing a three-hour stand-off in Oakville Tuesday (Jan. 31). At 12:17 p.m., uniformed officers and members of the service' s Emergency Services Unit responded to a call involving an alterca tion between two males in a residence in the Queen Mary Drive area. One of the individuals escaped unharmed w hile the second remained barricaded inside. Upon arrival, officers immediately secured the area. Approximately 15 officers were on scene, along with EMS. As a precaution, Oakwood Public School was placed under hold and secure at approxi mately 12:33 p.m. The measure was lifted about two hours later. Officers placed a male under arrest without incident. A 50-year-old Oakville man has been charged with uttering threats. The investigation is ongoing and addition al charges may be forthcoming.
