Comeback fallsju s t sh ort a t Peterborough tourney The Oakville Rangers minor peewee A rep team opened their season Sept. 30 with a 3-3 tie against host Brampton Battalion. It was a back and forth game with Oakville fighting back from two onegoal deficits to eventually take a short lived 3-2 lead. Goals were scored by Brian Richardson, Jamie Beaver and Michael Lorenz. Assists went to Jamie Beaver, Richardson, Alex Tierney, Myles Thompson and Kyle Brodie. Oakville made it two in a row on the road with a 6-1 win over Dundas. Goals were scored by Brett Thompson (2), Carson Shold, Alex Tierney, Kyle Brodie and Myles Thompson. Assists were nabbed by Matt Bandy (3), Kyle Brodie, Brett Thompson, Jeff Budd, Brennan Gregoris, Michael Lorenz, Brendan Farrer, Bryan Richardson and Jamie Beaver. Oakville just failed to advance to the final of the Peterborough tourney over the Oct. 6-8 weekend with a tie, a win and a loss, in that order. They started off with a 2-2 tie with Peterborough. Oakville drew first blood but then had to fight back to tie it at 2-2. Goals were scored by Brett Thompson and Matt Bandy. Assists went to Kyle Brodie, Mike Meschino and Myles Thompson. Oakville defeated Kitchener 6-0, with Steve Mason recording the shutout. Brett Thompson fired in a pair with single mark ers to Alex Tierney, Bryan Richardson, Jeff Budd and Carson Shold.
