Best known for her lilting first single, Before You, she is sure to thrill fans with emotional renditions of Souls, Until We Die, and Eve. The critical acclaim and commercial success of her 1997 debut album Under These Rocks and Stones (more than double platinum in Canada) opened several doors of oppor tunity for Kreviazuk. This collection of music was written after her recovery from a serious accident in 1994. Kreviazuk's most recent CD, Colour Moving and Still, came together during the winter months of early 1999. The songs are by turns introspective, candid and evocative. * `There are so many interesting little spontaneous gems on this record: a door slam, a busy signal, me singing back wards," says Kreviazuk. "In the recording of this album, I truly got the sense of this having been an artist's canvas." Another artist's canvas will be created when the music and breathtaking foot work of Leahy grace the Coronation Waterfront stage at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 25th. The nine members in this Celtic act began their stage careers in shows that their fiddle-playing father and pianist mother gave. Ultimately becoming part of The Leahy Fam ily, the children displayed talent in everything from fiddle to guitar to saxophone as well as singing and dancing. Their album Leahy has gone platinum and their music video The Call to Dance has achieved Number-one on many charts. Leahy's step dancing, the group stresses, is distinctly Canadian, heavily influenced by French-Canadian origins. "We move our arms. Our whole body is freer and more relaxed," explains Agnes Leahy. "It's very different in some ways from traditional Irish step dancing."
