U sing digital imaging software, the Bronte Village resident transforms his photographs into pictures that resemble watercolours or oil paintings. As a young man, Dias was fortunate to travel extensively, on account of his occupa tion in the technology sector, to places like Belgium, Italy, France, Sweden and the Unit ed Kingdom, just to name a few. He has also travelled extensively in Can ada, visiting nearly every province in the country. Dias also enjoys photographing images close to home. In his profile, Dias says liv ing in the Village of Bronte is a "dream come true" for anyone, but especially for som eone with a passion for photography. His Bronte Village home is filled with many different paintings of various shapes and siz es as he prepares for Art in the Park - 2017. This year, Art in the Park w ill take place on Monday, Aug. 7 at Bronte Heritage Water front Park. N ow in its 52nd year, the event features more than 175 artists and artisans from across the country. Dias came to Canada from England in 1965, initially to help support his family be cause his father was losing his eyesight. For tunately, his father regained his ability to see. Dias w ent to work for a medical imaging company. To better understand the technol ogy, Dias took basic, intermediate and ad vanced courses at Sheridan College in pho tography. Later, as Dias worked in sales and had the opportunity to travel, his camera bag was an integral part of his travel kit. "I was young and I loved to travel," says Dias. Over the past few years, Dias has studied photograph technology of the Colour Digital Zone System, as w ell as using different tech niques used in Luminosity Masks.
