On Nov. 4, the Hornets played a home and home series with Whitby. The first game was in Whitby and Heather Garbutt earned the shutout in a 2-0 win. Giselle Panton scored both goals, the first one on a power play with just 18 seconds left in the first period, the second one with just 1:27 to play. Back at home the Hornets earned a come-back 2-2 draw with Whitby. Just 19 seconds after Whitby had taken a 2-1 lead, Amy Robinson tied the game, redi recting a Stephanie Latty point shot. Ryan Ferguson also assisted. Tenille Clarke had given Oakville a brief 1-0 lead on a power play goal, assisted by Ferguson and Robinson. On Nov. 1, a narrow 2-1 win over Etobicoke marked Oakville's sixth straight win. Kate Longmoore scored the winner after Melissa Snedden had opened up a shortlived 1-0 lead. Jenelle Stevens and Sarah Grigor picked up the assists. On Oct. 27, they won their opener 2-0 over the vis iting Orangeville Tigers with Charlotte Capaldo pick ing up the shutout. Liz Edmunds scored in the second period and Giselle Panton in the third period. Assists went to Panton, Sarah Grigor and Amy Robinson. The Hornets also won their road opener, with Amy Robinson's late second period goal holding up for the 1-0 win over the Coldwater Capitals. Liz Edmunds and Ryan Ferguson assisted. Heather Garbutt earned the shutout. Including exhibition matches, the team has now gone four games (13 and a half periods, to be exact) without surrendering a goal. They allowed two goals in their first game. On Oct. 20, Oakville shut out the Mississagua Chiefs 2-0 at the Hershey Centre. A power play goal by Liz Edmunds, midway through the first period, held up until the last minute of the game when Giselle Panton added some insurance. Assists went to Sarah Grigor, Edmunds and Kate Longmoore. On Oct. 18, Oakville shut out host Brampton 5-0. Oakville were up 3-0 midway through the first period on goals by Amy Robinson, Sarah Grigor and Ryan Ferguson.
