In order to address both public safety and thefuture 2031 travel demand along Ninth Line, a number of road improvement alternatives have been examined as well as intersection improvements, active transportation and overall traffic operations. The impact of road improvements on social, cultural, economic and natural environments have been evaluated and assessed during the Study. The idea of confiscating equity from a senior's house is an idea intro duced in the UK. Theresa May's con servative government introduced this idea in its 2017 general election manifesto. One part of the document deals with the coping of an aging society, while being fair to the younger gen eration. The policy proposes that seniors with more than £100,000 in assets will have to pay for their own elderly care. If they are cash-poor, the government will extract equity from their homes, the costs to be re covered when the seniors sell their houses, or die. Paying for aging seniors is a signif icant challenge for Canada. Our cur rent financial resources are stretched fairly thin now. We need a creative solution. Ca nadians will care for their elders. Perhaps transferring some of the equity in a senior's house will be the answer. -- subm itted by P eter W atson o f P eter W atson Investm ents and A ligned C apital Partners Inc., M B A, CFP, R.FP, CIM , FCSI., C ertified F inancial P lanner CONCRETE Process The Study is being conducted in compliance with Schedule C of the M unicipal Class Environm ental Assessm ent (October 2000, amended 2007,2011 and 2015), which is approved under the O ntario Environm ental Assessm ent Act.
