Tuesday, December 26, 2000 THE OAKVILLE BEAVER B7 A Child's Christmas My F avourite C hristinas It was December 23 on a Tuesday and Christmas was just around the comer. Everyone was out shopping including my family. I was so excited to give and receive presents. Of course I didn't really know what Christmas was really all about because I was only 4 years old. ' Everyone knew that I wanted the "take care of me twin dolls", for Christmas. One day my mom, my dad, my brother and I went to the store. When we got there the first thing I did was ran to the toy department. Suddenly I screamed "MOM! MOM! I FOUND THE DOLLS!" "I'm coming" yelled my mom. Now go with your Dad and look at some other toys", said Mom. "Yes Mom", I said. I knew she was getting the dolls I wanted. When we were on our way home I was jump ing in my seat I was so excited. When we got home my Mom ran downstairs and hid the dolls in her secret hiding place. It was the day before Christmas, the only thing I could think about was the "take care of me twins". I could not help it, I just couldn't take it any more. I ran downstairs to Mom's secret hiding place and took a peek. I just couldn't resist. I opened the box and tried out the dolls. One baby started to cry and Mom heard it. She ran down stairs and saw me playing with it. I smiled and said "I just wanted to try them out." My mom put the dolls back in the box and sent me upstairs. That is a Christmas memory I will never for get! Mary S. St. Matthew's School Grade 4 We would give them blankets to keep them warm and maybe even welcome them into our homes. We would give them extra clothes to wear. We would give them medicine, bandages, and other medical stuff to cure their sicknesses and heal their wounds. This year my family is partici pating in the angel wreath. The angel wreath is a special activity St. Matthew's School is holding. Each family can take a few angels off a big wreath. Every angel has something written on it that one of us needs to buy for a needy family. I think that all the families in our school should participate in the angel wreath. It makes me feel good that I am going to make somebody smile this Christmas and it will make you feel good too. Hopefully some day in the future, there will be no needy families in the world and everybody will be happy, healthy and free! Merry Christmas and happy holidays! Rachel D. MAJESTIC Crash Landing One day Santa was flying house to house deliv ering presents and when he wasn't looking his big red sleigh hit a tree and crashed in the deep pile of snow. His sleigh was completely covered with snow. When Santa went to look for some help a very bad blizzard started. He was blown right off his feet. Santa was cold, stranded and fast! He was being blown in circles. Santa was so cold he froze. Where he woke up he was in a polar bear cave and he saw cubs every where playing with each other. The mother polar bear saw that Santa was awake and asked if he wanted something to eat. Santa said "yes please". The next morning when the storm was over Santa left the cave. There was a man, his name was Mr. Man. He found Santa and helped him back to his sleigh that had actual ly crashed in his back yard. Santa managed to get back to the North Pole and Mrs. Claus made him take sleigh driving lessons. Liam M. If they did, than the families of Oakville would share their food and water with the poor. 338*WARM (9276) Visit our website at w w w .futureflam es.com Santa's Crash Down Ho Ho Ho! R u d o l p h ! D a n c e r ! Aaaaaaaaa! Bang, smash! It was the week before Christmas. Santa was on his nightly practice route when he crashed. A man saw a flash crash down to the ground. He ran over and lift ed the sleigh right side up and helped the rein deer. The helpful man saw the Santa suit in the sleigh and a letter in one of the pockets. He opened the letter and it said "put on the suit * and jump in the sleigh! Go north where it's cold." So the helpful man jumped in the sleigh and put on the suit. Suddenly, the sleigh took off and went over every city. Then the sleigh headed in the path to the North Pole. He saw a field of red, green and white bunnies running to a huge casde made out of Christmas candy. The sled flew right into the flight base which was made out of candy canes. All of a sud den elves started running up and all said "you are the big gift giver now!" So the helpful man jumped out and got straight to work. By Christmas Eve he knew where every thing in the caste was and he even knew every person's name. The help ful man got ready for his big sleigh ride on Christmas Eve. Then he jumped in the sleigh. It flew out and automatically went over every chimney in the world dropping of presents. And that is how a very help ful man saved Christmas. Adam G.
