The power outage, w hich started at ap proximately 8 p.m ., impacted residents with hom es in an area bounded by Bronte Road and Third Line and Upper Middle and Pine Glen roads. Oakville Hydro' s Vice President of Com m unications Mary Caputi said the lights were back on for 90 per of the impacted resi dents w ithin 50 minutes. By 9:30 p.m. only the 138 customers liv ing in the com plex where the transformer fire took place were still w ithout power. Caputi said power at this location was re stored at 8 a.m. Monday (July 17) through the use of a generator, w hich w ill serve the com plex until the damaged transformer can be replaced. She noted Oakville Hydro' s automated sw itching capability worked w ell in allow ing the vast majority of those affected to get their power back in less than an hour by remotely sw itching them to another power source. The w om an was getting ready to swim at the Iroquois Ridge Comm unity Centre on Glenashton Drive at 7:45 p.m ., w hen the alleged incident occurred, Halton police re port. The w om an was not physically injured and police said the suspect fled the area w hen the victim confronted him. Police said they worked w ith the Town of Oakville and received several tips from the public, w hich assisted in identifying a sus pect, w ho was arrested Thursday (July 13). Ritesh Shah, 44, of Oakville has been charged w ith one count of voyeurism.
