S u n d a y J u ly 16, 2 0 0 0 Oakville Beaver Weekend 9 Firearms awareness team in tow n Halton Region's Outreach Firearms Program 2000 continues this summer with appearances planned at a variety of local venues. The Outreach team is part of a Canada-wide, Department of Justice initiative to assist the public in filling out the paperwork required for compli ance with new federal firearms legisla tion. Team members can answer ques tions, help complete application forms and take photos for licenses. At the core of the legislation is the fact that every firearm owner must reg ister before Jan. 1, 2001 while all guns - including war trophies and old firearms no longer used - must be reg istered by Jan. 1, 2003. On July 21st, for example, the team will be at Oakville's Midnight Madness. On July 26 and Aug. 2nd, they will be at regional headquarters, located at 1151 Bronte Rd., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. ( iH O IV O A ® H O INI D A F in d a lo c a t io n w h e r e y o u fe e l c o m fo r ta b le (C o n tin u e d fro m p a g e 8 ) I found an ideal crowd environment last Saturday during The Matthew Good Band's performance at the Edge Fest concert in Barrie. No matter what you want to get out of a show, the key to a great concert is to find an area where you're comfortable, where you can express yourself how you want to around others who are doing the same. That and a good band make for my idea of a wonderful summer night. ACCORD SEDAN SHUAM *25,400 m s * > The role model for family vehicles.
