Kids are excited at the prospect of hav ing this space-age "flashlight" as a memento of the millennium, while par ents look forward to spending this spe cial occasion with their families. On New Year's Eve, not once but twice, school children in downtown Oakville will proudly hold high their beacons, a unifying symbol of hope and renewal. For families wondering how to bring in the new millennium, this is a great opportunity to celebrate together. Starting at 6:30 p.m. with a "Walk of Honour," as veterans and children walk in unison, young and old alike will line Lakeshore as the festivities begin. Susan Sheppard, executive director, of the Oakville 2000 Millennium Committee, is pleased with the support of the schools in Oakville.
