SHAUGHNESSY, Carl (September 26, 1929 - Tuesday September 12, 2017) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carl John Shaughnessy (known to us all as "Chuck") on Tuesday September 12th, 2017, just two weeks shy of his 88th birthday. Chuck, loving husband of 60 years to Joan, and dear father of Carla, Stephen (Cathy), John (Janet), Barb (Steve), and Tim (Carrie). Cherished Papa to Meagan (Dean), Erin (Ian), Gillian, Ian, Colin, Andrew, Kayla, Julia, Laura, Jack and Charlie, and greatgrandfather to Scott. Chuck was born and raised in his beloved hometown of Peterborough, Ontario and moved to Oakville in 1953 to start his 35 year career with Ford Canada. He will be remembered for his love of hockey and baseball especially the Peterborough Petes, Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays, reading, the Stock Market, travelling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He lived each day with patience, kindness and a positive attitude.
