The healthy eating crunch Students crunched more than just numbers recently. More than 54,000 `crunchers' registered at more than 90 Halton Catholic and public board schools for The Great Big Crunch, co-ordinated by Healthy Kids Community Challenge and Halton Food For Thought, that saw pupils across the region biting into an apple at the same time in support of healthy eating. At far left, Grade 1 student Jada Charbonneau, 6, takes a big bite. Austin Hu, 6, of Grade 1 takes a peek at the crunch action of classmates. Students lined up to take part. In Oakville, 28 elementary and high schools representing approximately 16,100 students took part.
