The panel includes: · Sherry Saevil, Indigenous Advisor, Halton Catholic District School Board; · Chief Stacey LaForme, Mississauga of the Credits; · Gabrielle Scrimshaw, First Nations Advocate; · Valerie King, Traditional Teachings and Workshops; ·Ja i King-Green, Social Worker and Traditional Hand Drum Singer and Dancer; · Jessica Bolduc, Executive Director of the 4 Rb Youth Movement; and, · Stephen Paquette, Indigenous Knowledge Guide. A special highlight of YMCA Peace Week is the presentation of YMCA Peace Medals to individuals who, without any special resources, have demonstrated a commitment to peace through contributions made within their local, national or global community. The YMCA of Oakville will present one youth, adult and group with a YMCA Peace Medal during the YMCA Community Breakfast for Peace. The YMCA Candlelight Walk is open to all members of the Oakville community and all ages welcome.
