"Her beautiful paintings of a poinsettia and a winter forest scene were two of six works being used for our company-wide holiday cards," Krista Griffin, Revera' s national director, re habilitation and recreation, said in an email. Griffin says art is one of the most popular and effective recreation activi ties that Revera offers to keep residents at retirement residences and long-term care homes engaged and active. Bury was born and raised in To ronto prior to moving to Northridge, in Oakville. She worked as an under writer for an insurance company until she married Frank and the couple had three children. Her husband says Evelyn always en joyed working with her hands -- knit ting, crocheting and sewing. She did not take up art until seven years ago at an adult day program, and has loved it ever since.
