Sunday, October 3, 1999 Oakville Beaver Weekend Pipeline construction set to start along Regional Road 25 Halton Region will be contacting resi dents and businesses in areas bordering Regional Road 25 (Bronte Road) in north Oakville and Milton to ensure there is no impact on their water wells from exten sive pipeline improvements. Owners of the properties in question will be contacted during the next several weeks as the construction of new water and wastewater pipelines into the planned expansion area of southeast Milton gets underway. (Even with the lines in place, existing Milton residents will continue to drink ground water.) Residents should also know, however, that two way traffic will continue on Regional Road 25 at all times. The official groundbreaking of the long-awaited pipelines takes place Wednesday at Upper Middle and Bronte Roads. Construction will commence in November with the pipelines expected to be completed by next summer. One key component of the project is keeping residents and businesses informed and they will be notified when construction approaches their properties. Discussions are underway with the Halton Region Conservation Authority to ensure construction at all creek crossings minimizes any impact on fish habitat. Both pipelines will be constructed simultaneously and generally will run up the west side of Regional Road 25. The watermain will continue along the south side of Derry Road and end about 600 metres north on Thompson Road. The major project has its origins in the Halton Urban Structure Plan approved by Regional Council in 1994. This plan iden tified the need for additional servicing of Milton to allow for phased-in growth. Council gave the pipelines the green light last year. The project is being funded by those developers with an interest in the Milton expansion area and there will be no addi tional cost to Halton taxpayers. ^ M odern Shoe R epair ^ S p e c ia l iz in g in ALL TYPES OF LEATHER REPAIRS · SH O ES · BO O T S · JACKETS, ETC. · ALSO H A N D M A D E O R T H O P E D IC SH O ES G ^ .G o ld en HOCKEY CLOVES ^ F A M IL Y R ESTA U R A N TS r id d l e repalmed 125 Cross Ave., Trafalgar Village $4 5^ a *"T H alf Soles Z Hc pc p iIc & n i A lso A v a il a b l e : Full Soles & Heels Equestrian Full Soles & Heels Custom Made Wrestling Boots S 3 i 1 1-- Pair!
