Do-It-Yourselfers and contractors can meet their home improve ment and building supply needs anytime day or night, now that the Oakville Home Depot is open 24 hours. "Our customers have been asking for more flexible shop ping hours," said store manager Mike Schanck, Oakville The Home Depot. "The announce ment is a direct response to those customers -- Oakville residents and contractors need ed a store with longer hours to accommodate their busy sched ules. We're excited to provide our excellent customer service around the clock and also to provide new employment opportunities to Oakville resi dents." To help meet the customer service requirements of the new 24-hour format, 30 new posi tions have been added. This brings the total store team total to 320 full and part-time associ ates. "Customer service is our first priority," said Pat Bennett, vice- president of operations, at Home Depot Canada. "We've Harvey's celebrates 40th anniversary H a rvey's outlets in Oakville and across Canada are celebrating their 40th birthday on Sept. 29th. And to mark the occasion, the chain is offering a free Original Custom Combo™ to any customer who can prove they were born in 1957 or drive up to the restaurant in a Corvette. There are now 375 Harvey's restaurants em ploy ing 9,000 people across Canada. The company's first outlet was in Richmond Hill and it's still there. The name of the franchise was picked out o f the blue by founder Rick Mauran. Harvey's is part of the CARA Restaurant Group become Canada's number one choice for home improvement products and solutions, because we listen to our customers and help meet their needs. Many of our customers want to shop after conventional hours -- whether it's a professional contractor getting an early start, a do-it- yourselfer on shift work or a homeowner with an emergency, we can provide the knowledge and products they need seven days a week, 24 hours a day." Last year, The Home Depot Canada opened Rs first 24-hour location in Scarborough, and followed by another in Toronto in February of this year. Both stores have enjoyed great suc cess. In addition to the Oakville store, seven other Home Depot stores across Canada also began 24-hour operation on Sept. 19th. There are now stores operating 24 hours a day across the coun try. "It's not a nine to five world anymore. People want to shop when they want, not when someone tells them they can," added Bennett.
