The foundation awarded $75,000 for a qual- ity-of-life project aimed at assessing and im proving the quality-of-life for people support ed by CWSDS and CLO and another $132,200 for pre-employment training programs. "These two agencies provide vital life skills services and support for some of our most vul nerable citizens," stated Oakville MPP Kevin Flynn, in a press release. "Thanks to this OTF seed and grow pro gram funding, their joint initiatives will fund two new activities: improving the quality-of- life for individuals supported by CWSDS and CLO and enabling over 200 people living with developmental disabilities to gain the neces sary skills and experience to successfully en ter and remain in a more inclusive workforce," Flynn added. Ontario Trillium Foundation is one of Can ada's largest granting foundations. With a bud get of more than $136 million, OTF awards grant to approximately 1,000 projects every year to build healthy and vibrant communi ties. Funding comes directly from government revenue that flows through the Ontario Min istry of Tourism, Culture and Sport. Commu- nity members serve on grant review teams to determine how best to fund and support our countless community organizations. "As collaborating agencies in this project, we are extremely pleased to be the recipients of two Ontario Trillium Foundation grants," added Janet Lorimer, executive director at CLO. "These grants will allow us to build success ful employment opportunities, and to move forward with a strong focus on self-determi nation and enhanced quality of life for the people we support," she added. Central West Specialized Developmental Services and CLO provide services and sup ports to individuals with developmental dis abilities. The organizations are committed to build ing inclusive communities where individuals with developmental disabilities can receive specialized and quality service in order to achieve their fullest potential.
