AFE SHELTER PROGRAM Sponsors committed to creating healthy relationships and communities Safe Shelter for clients of Halton Women's Place means more than just a roof over their heads. Safe Shelter also means access to 24-hour crisis counsel­ ling, child and youth services, clothing, food, trans­ portation assistance, court support, referrals and more. Halton Women's Place Safe Shelter Program is an annual program that has corporations and foundations sponsor a room in one of our shelters. This program has been a signature initiative of Halton Women's Place since 2004. Through this program, corporations and foundations have an opportunity to take a lead role in ending violence against women and children. Donations demonstrate a commitment to creating healthy relationships and healthy communities. Safe Shelter Sponsorship is recognized at the Halton Women's Place shelters in Burlington with a plaque naming the sponsor hung in the room for everyone to see. This shows HWP clients, staff, volunteers and other community members the support provided by sponsors for a future without violence.
