Thompson The Oakville Crusaders hosted the first Burl-Oak Challenge, pitting the Crusaders against the Burlington Centaurs in a club-wide competition. In the spirit of the day, the score is kept running throughout the games. The Crusaders came out on top 166-29. Crusaders win first Burl-Oak challenge Burlington Mayor Rob Mclsaac had to don the jersey of the victorious Oakville Crusaders on Saturday as they won the inaugural Burl-Oak challenge. Oakville Mayor Ann Mulvale was also on hand for the festivities. The annual challenge pits the Oakville Crusaders against the Burlington Centaurs, and in the spirit of the competition the score is kept running through the various matches which this year included a women's side, men's side, over-35's, U-19's and U-16's. The Crusaders claimed this year's victory 166-29. But the real winner was the Canadian Cancer Society which was handed a cheque for $500 in mem ory of Michael Owens, who was instrumental in kicking off the archery program at the Crusaders.
