Det.-Const. Mary Tine- bra of the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau said a 911 call came from the home around 2 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 25). It is believed that an alter­ cation occurred at the resi­ dence on Stephens Crescent, off Fourth Line and south of Speers Road, with someone using an edged weapon. A male around 20 years old was taken to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospi­ tal where he was treated and released for a minor injury. Tinebra said the incident occurred quickly and a sus­ pect immediately fled the scene. The victim wasn't able to tell police if they knew their attacker. At the time of the stab­ bing a party was being at­ tended by a large number of young adults. Tinebra said the home is used by Sheri­ dan College students. In the early morning hours of Feb. 12, suspects ap­ proached the Paradise Beauty Spa at 2501 Prince Michael Dr. The individuals removed a piece of glass from the door and then entered, stealing facial products as well as $1,100 cash. The suspects appear to have returned early on Feb. 23, breaking into the spa and a second business in the same plaza. The intruders stole cash before fleeing the area. No suspect descriptions are available at this time. Shelburne Promenade has been identified as a top priority site for shoreline protection repair and maintenance due to the deteriorated condition of protection measures currently in-place. The goal of this study is to come up with a preferred alternative to provide an effective and an environm entally responsible means of shoreline protection against natural lake processes (i.e. flooding, wave action, and other related water hazards). Please join us at the open house on Wednesday, March 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sir John Colborne Recreation Centre. It's a drop-in form at where staff and the town's consulting team will be present to discuss the study and answer any questions. Members of the community are also invited to share their own ideas on the study during the open house.
