He w o rk e d f o r b o th th e In te rn a t io n a l Nickel Com pany o f Canada (INCO) and th e G ove rnm ent o f O n ta r io and p roud ly w o re his i ron r ing t o his last day. A t a lm o s t 98, Peter re ta in e d his keen sense o f h is to ry and love o f country . He insti l led a love f o r Canada in his fam i ly w h i le p roud ly f ly ing th e Canadian f la g a t his h o m e f o r o v e r 63 years in O akv i l le , O n ta r io .
