Peter w i l l be missed by his w i f e o f 65 years Kris, w h o t o o k such lov ing care o f h im, his th r e e sons John, James (Deborah) and M ichael, g randson Hayden and m any nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister A n n (A r thu r) , o ld e r b ro th e r George (M ar ion ) and y o u n g e r b ro th e r James. Peter was bo rn on A p r i l 23, 1920 in H am il ton , O n ta r io and was raised in th e depression era ye t m a nage d t o excel in b o th p ick -up sports and academics. He served in W W I I r e a c h in g t h e ra n k o f F ly ing O f f ice r , w i t h f u l l serv ice decora t ions . As th e N a v ig a to r f o r a H a l i fax Bomber, Peter g u id e d his c rew safely hom e f o r a to ta l o f 33 missions. His c rew f ro m squadrons 424 and 415 was recogn ized as th e last re m a in in g in tac t RCAF aircrew. A f t e r th e war, he a t te n d e d th e Universi ty o f To ron to and g radua ted in 1948 as a M e ta l lu rg ica l Engineer. He w o rk e d f o r b o th th e In te rn a t io n a l Nickel Com pany o f Canada (INCO) and th e G ove rnm ent o f O n ta r io and p roud ly w o re his i ron r ing t o his last day. A t a lm o s t 98, Peter re ta in e d his keen sense o f h is to ry and love o f country . He insti l led a love f o r Canada in his fam i ly w h i le p roud ly f ly ing th e Canadian f la g a t his h o m e f o r o v e r 63 years in O akv i l le , O n ta r io . He t r a v e l le d t h e w o r ld , and he m ade sure his boys exper ienced all reg ions o f Canada. Peter w as an a v id g o l f e r s t a r t i n g as a ca d d y a t t h e C h e d o k e G o l f C ourse in H a m i l to n a t t h e age o f 11. Later in l i fe Peter loved h a ng ing o u t a t th e co t tage in th e Parry Sound area o f G e o rg ia n Bay, his w a lks in to B ro n te an d his d r ives a lo n g t h e N iaga ra Escarpment. Peter was a lo v in g husband , fa th e r , unc le and g r a n d f a th e r w h o cared f o r an d a b o u t his f a m i l y w h i l e k e e p in g us s m i l in g w i t h his u n iq u e sense o f h u m or . Pe ter set his sons up f o r success in t h e i r p u rs u i t o f t h e i r areas o f inte rest: medic ine, e n g inee r ing and go lf .
