She began with oils and noticed "such an improvement" that it became a personal challenge and "I was alone a lot because my husband travelled and I didn‘t know a lot of people here," she says. "Watercolor is immediate," says the former Oakville resident. "And I‘m that kind of person. I‘m quite spontaneous. I can express myself in that medium." She eventually began taking classes in a variety of subjects, among them, painting.
