St. Luke‘s is the first of three schools to be blessed and officialâ€" ly opened in 1994 during the Board‘s 25th anniversary year. Similar ceremonies will be hosted at Ecole Sacréâ€"Coeur in Georgetown on March 10th, 1994, and at Our Lady of Peace Elementary School in north cenâ€" tral Oakville, on May 5th, 1994. Construction of the school began in September, 1992 and completed in July, 1993. The architectural firm of Stafford Haensli Architects Inc. designed the school and Bondfield Construction Company Limited was the general contractor. The total cost of the building project was approximately $4.37â€" million.St. Luke‘s is a two storey school, with an interesting archiâ€" tectural design for a facility which has been built into the side of a hill. The true size of the school â€" which includes a Child Care Centre â€" is not readily apparent from the front on Kingsway Drive.
