Everyone loved the ship! At 45,000 tons, the "Royal Princess" is large enough to have all the amenities of her bigger cousins but her deck layouts allowed many cosy, friendly areas for new friends to meet and enjoy the cruise. There are eight public decks on the ship â€" the top two, the Sun and Lido Decks are for outdoor activities and include three beautiful and well used pools and two whirlpool spas. As with most cruise ships these days, the "Royal Princess" offers a wide variety of health and exercise programs. The gym, sauna, spa, and massage on the Sun Deck are well used facilities. E., Oakville (905) 338â€"8083 m Two acres of deck space and an excellent supply of deck lounges insured that everyone enjoyed the warm, sunny days at sea. s The best airâ€"conditioned viewing area on the ship for our passage through the Panama Canal was in the 360° Horizon Lounge on sun Deck, 10, stories above the water. In addition to the open deck viewâ€" ing areas forward on the Sun, Baja, and Dolphin decks, the "Royal Princess" has five outdoor aft decks for lounging and viewing the Panama Canal pasâ€" sage. The entertainment and restaurant decks are located below the accommoâ€" dation decks. The activity shifts to, Riviera Deck in the evening. j Every night, a production or cabaretâ€"style show was presented after. dinner in the International Lounge. More entertainment and dancing fo lowed in the other lounges and bars. At sea, the Casino (blackjack, craps, roulette, and slots) and the shops were open. Additional facilities included a full theater (showing 1st run and old favorites), card room, small library, and photo shop. Departing San Juan, we cruised the Caribbean, visiting ports enroute to onr passage of the Panama Canal and the cruised up the Pacific coast for two days to Acapulco for an overnight stay onâ€"board ship until our return. The highlight of the cruise was our nineâ€"hour transit of the famous canal. During the day before (at sea), excelâ€" lent films were presented giving the history and technical background of. the canal.
