"We can't always blame the compa nies for what has happened to the envi ronment, especially when we are just as guilty with our own waste manage ment. We all need education to change the ways we have all too often grown accustomed to," said Mitchell. Both Dusty Papke, Halton District School Board Education Director, and Lord Elgin High School Principal Jackie Stern noted that the Bronte Creek Project would have folded with out Ford's support.. During the past year Oakville Assembly Plant employees have partic ipated in several community projects. They are providing funds for a play ground for handicap children, volun teers work once a day with the Meals On Wheels program, and employees assisted Community Living in Oakville with landscaping and painting. Currently, the Oakville Assembly Plant is also organizing participation in U Walkathon in Toronto for Juvenile Diabetes.
