quarry tile in the stairwells, entrances and exhibition area, carpet in all pub- lic library areas, and resilient tile in work and service areas. All built- in furniture was designed by the ar- chitects. A central heating and air condi- tioning plant for the entire complex is located in the swimming pool build- ing. On the site of the proposed audi- torium a berm was created with soil from construction excavation and planted with trees. This mound will function for the time being as a site element in place of the auditorium. A reflecting pool is also planned as part of the plaza. Construction of re- maining facilities will take place in several phases as they are needed and/or if money becomes available. Additions to the library-exhibition and swimming pool buildings are planned for the early 1970's. Final plans for the auditorium-restaurant have not yet been formulated al- though preliminary design work on the building to house them has been done. Under development by the city is a park and recreational area along Sixteen Mile Creek which will be completed this summer. 3 Cost David K.
